Job Description
Are you an editorial person looking to put your creative stamp on the online world? As Merchandising Web Editor at mydeco, you’ll have the opportunity to create a distinctive tone of voice for one of the most exciting new websites in the UK, and help drive its continued growth with interesting, visually appealing content.
You’ll be a web editor with technical aptitude and a ‘good eye’. This role requires you to plan themes and content across the site and e-newsletters, and you’ll be comfortable using data to inform your merchandising decisions.
You’ll be leading content merchandising across the site, so you will need strong leadership and writing skills, alongside a developed sense of what ‘sells’ and makes users click online.

Your key areas of responsibility would cover:
- Ensuring a consistently high standard of copy and distinctive tone of voice through copywriting and subediting across the site
- Ensuring that the content generated by mydeco is useful, attractive and engaging for users on and off site
- Planning and writing content for two weekly e-newsletters, exclusive offers and competitions
- Planning product merchandising around seasonality of business needs and external factors
- Using data to analyse user behaviour and guide merchandising decisions
- Being the user champion – constantly sourcing and monitoring feedback from users
- Working with site and marketing teams to ensure that site innovations are
promoted on-site and new developments are in line with user needs

Candidate Requirements
We are looking for someone who has a minimum of 3 years experience as an Online Editor/Merchandising Editor/Site Editor/Site Manager for a distinctive online brand (preferably an e-commerce site). Photoshop skills would be advantageous.
