Right Here, Right Now - New Business Models for the Instant Access Revolution

Track:
Time:
10:15 - 10:45
Speaker:
Sal Visca, CTO, Elastic Path

Online selling of digital content such as software, e-books and periodicals, games and information services is very different from traditional retail ecommerce.  The traditional list of functionality required of an ecommerce platform – created when ecommerce simply mimicked the in-store retail process – is always inadequate, often irrelevant and sometimes inappropriate.  The “alive” nature of digital content – the fact that the product itself and thus the customer can always remain connected to the producer, publisher, distributor or retailer – enables a powerful new paradigm for a rich, ongoing relationship: Digital Relationship Management.

In this session Sal Visca will share Elastic Path’s experiences helping some of the world biggest brands including Google, Symantec and Time Inc sell their digital goods and services.
  • Preparing for the reality of a world that requires commerce to be frictionless, social, and everywhere
  • Preparing to sell “live” products in the context of life
  • Exploring new business models
  • Lessons from the trenches – what can be learned from the “Digital Pioneers”
