About the course
Overview
This course will provide you with a workable project management approach that offers structure and control, but is also flexible enough to handle evolving requirements. Managing web projects is difficult: mixed teams, experts in different areas and stakeholders that frequently pull you in different directions, with tight deadlines adding additional pressures.
The starting point in your web project management training, this course can be taken alone, or followed by the second and third in the series, Planning Web Projects and Avoiding Web Project Disasters. Taken together, the 3 courses provide a complete grounding in all areas of web project management.
Program
This course covers the fundamentals of project management for web projects: what it is, why projects go wrong, and what's different about web projects. You will be given an overview of different project management methods (traditional/waterfall, agile and incremental delivery) and be shown how to manage each.
The course covers the full project management lifecycle, from the basics of getting started (defining the project and scope, prioritising and estimating features) to delivering in increment and deployment.
Who should attend?
This course is ideal for managers or marketers who want to discover how project management tools and techniques can deliver projects on-brief, on-time and on-budget. It would also benefit project managers looking for ways to achieve greater business benefit and flexibility, without relinquishing control, and anyone with an expanding web portfolio looking to manage resources more effectively.
How will I benefit?
Upon completion of this course, you'll be able to:
- Quickly and effectively capture project requirements and deliver them on-time and to budget, even in a rapidly changing environment
