Mobile has become more popular with retailers and other brands, and there has been a steady flow of app releases in 2010.
This is certainly true in the case of mobile commerce, and many of the UK’s big names in retail, Tesco, Argos, M&S etc, have been launching mobile products this year.

Mobile commerce apps
2010 has seen many more app mobile releases from retailers. While some, like M&S and John Lewis have opted for a mobile site, many are still releasing apps.
The best are those that make full use of the iPhone’s features, providing location-based services, or useful shopping comparison tools like barcode scanners.
Honourable mentions must go to the Kiddicare and Debenhams apps, while the Argos app, though not transactional, allows customers to check and reserve stock locally.
The Digg app took a long time coming, and wasn’t the most impressive ever, but the Stuck app, developed by Axa’s innnovation team, deserves a mention.
Restaurants / fast food
Honourable mentions should go to Voucher Cloud, which provides mobile vouchers, and Auto Trader.
While the Next iPad app is little more than an enlarged version of the iPhone app, the rest are worth checking out. The Twitter iPad app provides an excellent user experience, while Net A Porter takes a magazine format and makes it interactive.
