Trivop, the recently launched video guide for hotels, has just closed a round of early-stage funding from angel investors.

According to Travolution, the French startup has received around EU600,000 (£405,000) from seven angel investors including Loic Le Meur, chairman of Six Apart Europe; Morten Lund, who has previously invested in Skype; and the founders of Pixmania, Steve and Jean-Emile Rosenblum.

Trivop, launched by French company VideoAgency in March this year, provides professional video guides for hotels. The site uses Google Maps to pinpoint the location of hotels.

So far, the site has added videos from around 900 filmmakers. At the moment, most are for hotels in Paris, with a few London hotels featured.

The funding will be used by the company to expand the site's coverage to other major European cities.
