Lijit has has received $3.3m (£1.65m) in Series B funding for its blog search and stats tools. The round was led by Boulder Ventures and brings the total raised by the firm to $4.2m (£2.1m).

Lijit's main product is a widget that can be added to a blog to allow its users to search both the blog's content and blogroll, as well as the publisher's bookmarks and chosen feeds.

Lijit also provides a good range of stats to show bloggers what their readers have been searching for and which articles they have been reading.

According to the company, it will use the additional funding for expansion:

"The investment is designed to fuel Lijit's continued exponential growth, as more and more publishers adopt Lijit's service and technology."
