US online video platform Brightcove has opened an office in London.


Brightcove provides a platform for media companies to launch their own internet video channels. It publishes and syndicates video content for CBS, Fox and others.

The company said it had come to the UK because online video usage, as well as online ad spend, is proportionally higher than in the US. It plans to use the UK as a base to expand into the European market.

Brightcove has so far received a sizeable amount in funding, raising $60m (£29.5m) in January from a range of investors that included the New York Times and The Hearst Corporation.
