It’s that time again when we present the finest digital marketing infographic we’ve seen this week and I’m pleased to say that this time round the winner is a friend of mine.

This infographic was created by our very own Matt Owen to summarise some of the findings from the new Econsultancy/Adobe Quarterly Digital Intelligence Briefing titled ‘From Content Management to Customer Experience Management’.

The report, based on a global survey of more than 1,000 respondents, is devoted to the topic of web content management (WCM), an area which is becoming a focal point for companies wishing to deliver a truly seamless multichannel customer experience.

The infographic shows that:

  • just 38% of businesses believe their CMS allows them to create a brand-enhancing digital presence.
  • 78% of businesses say a CMS should help to build the brand through positive experiences, but just 29% think their system is good at this.
  • when asked which one feature they would add to their CMS, 33% chose compatibility with mobile website/responsive design.

Lots of good information on here. I would have liked to have seen the %'s for what CMS the people asked these questions were using.

Seems to me that a huge amount of businesses are using the wrong CMS then. Any CMS that can't support responsive, for example, should surely be consigned to the scrap heap. This stuff is fundamental, commoditised, basic hygene.
