Great post! When you say using a platform what do you mean? Are there services that help automate the process?

In some ways it turns the employee into an 'inside-man' advocate just like what happens to consumers but people will believe them more as they are in the 'loop'.

To answer your question, yes, there are employee advocacy platforms - like SoAmpli, www.soampli.com, the company I'm the founder of - that make it extremely easy for colleagues to access fresh and social-media ready company content to share with their personal networks.

However, since authenticity is what really works on social media in the long run, it's not a matter of automating the process as much as empowering the people who really care and believe in their company to speak about it online in an informed and accurate way.

If "external" people can feel the passion and dedication of an "insider brand advocate", that usually reflects positively on the perception of the company rather than generating scepticism.
