In our Start Me Up series we profile young digital companies, and this week it's the turn of Whatagraph.

I spoke to marketing manager Giedrė Dubiševaitė about the data visualisation software.

In one sentence, what is your product/service?

Whatagraph is an automation tool that instantly turns complicated website and social analytics data into visual infographic reports.

What problem(s) does it solve?

1. Whatagraph simplifies the process of sharing analytics data between departments and to clients.

2. Enables more frequent and targeted report delivery.

3. Saves up to four hours per day in analytics report preparation.

4. Allows better understanding of key analytics data through visual and engaging infographics.

What were the biggest challenges involved in building the tech or growing your team?

Building the tech and growing the team were not as challenging as finding the best sprint and task management structure that fits the team and creates the best setting to enable effective and fast company growth.

Realisation that product feature development doesn't happen in one loop was another eye-opening experience.

It's not difficult to get feedback from the clients, but that is just the start of the process with several stages, involving prioritisation, decision making, communication, building and testing.

We found that allowing space for failing and learning is absolutely fine, and usually better and more creative ideas are born in the process.

How will the company make money?

Whatagraph offers three different types of pricing:

  • For freelancers, bloggers and small web projects.
  • For SMB businesses and small digital agencies.
  • For large digital agencies and established businesses.

The clients are charged for the number of websites they connect and extra features like report customisation and whitelabelling.

Who is in your team?

Justas Malinauskas, co-founder and CEO. Andrius Malinauskas, co-founder.

We also have small teams in design and product development, technical development and marketing.

Where would you like to be in one, three and five years' time?

While Whatagraph is perfect for businesses of any size and type, we decided to take the direction towards digital marketing agencies by developing a product that is fully customisable and built around the needs of this particular target audience.

In the following months we will have a fully functional and scalable agency platform enabling a new type of analytics reporting

The ultimate aim is to become a disruptive innovation that will revolutionize the digital agency market.

Other than your own, what are your favourite websites/apps/tools?

Zeplin - for hassle-free design handover. Spotify - for background music. Inbound - for staying up to date.
