Jo Malone MBE, founder and creative director of Jo Loves, is to headline the Festival of Marketing 2017.
The English perfumer, who previously built the Jo Malone London brand before selling to Estée Lauder in 1999, will share her branding expertise as well as her entrepreneurial journey.
Founded in 2011, the Jo Loves brand encompasses fragrances, candles and bath and body products. The brand's flagship store in Belgravia exhibits Malone's belief in high street retail experiences that delight the customer.
From ‘fragrance tapas’ at a gleaming silver bar to the Candle Shot Studio, Malone's vision is of a memorable retail experience.
She told Marketing Week in a 2016 interview, “Shopkeepers became lazy, that’s the reality I’m afraid. Retail was never all about the product. It’s about the language and landscape your product lives in, the packaging, the entertainment, the circus, the education – all those things encompassed.”
The Festival of Marketing is marketing's premier event, put together by Econsultancy, Marketing Week, Creative Review and Design Week.
Previous years' headliners have included Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, Sir Martin Sorrell, Lord Sugar, Colonel Chris Hadfield and activist Monica Lewinsky.
Festival attendees get to experience two days packed with 12 stages of content, the Festival After Dark after-party, workshops, and a Festival City of food, drink and sponsor experiences.
