That’s right, we're reducing the frequency to three days per week. The renamed Digital Pulse will now be delivered to your inbox every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Why the change?

We’re reducing our email frequency for a variety of reasons, the main one being that we feel it’s better to focus on quality rather than quantity.

The Econsultancy blog team now has slightly fewer members than it did back in the heady days of 2015, so it doesn’t make sense to continue to publish the same number of posts. 

Our aim is to ensure that every post is of the highest quality and delivers insightful or practical information for the reader. To achieve this goal we’re going to publish slightly fewer posts each week, which means fewer newsletters.

An equally important reason is the user experience. Occasionally our readers ask if we offer a weekly option instead of a daily email (we don’t), and we know from personal experience that you can become slightly blind to a newsletter that arrives five days per week.

Econsultancy isn’t a news organisation so we don’t need to keep our audience up-to-date with the latest breaking stories in digital. Where we do cover news stories it’s with a considered, analytical slant, so immediacy is less important to us and hopefully to our readers.

The Daily Pulse is dead. Long live the Digital Pulse

To recap, as of June 2017 our newsletter will only go out three days per week. To reflect this change, it will be rebranded as the Digital Pulse. (Embarrassingly the rebrand might be delayed a few days while we do battle with our legacy tech, but the frequency will definitely be reduced as of Monday.)
