In partnership with A4u, Econsultancy has this week launched the 2011 Affiliate Census, which is aimed at shining a spotlight on the affiliate publishers who drive billions of pounds in revenue for advertisers every year.

As with similar studies published in 2007 and 2009, the research will be based on a survey which is open to affiliates operating in the UK marketplace or promoting UK advertisers from abroad.

Publishers taking part in the research will get a free copy of the report which will be launched at a4uExpo London on 18th and 19th October.

Thanks to our sponsors Commission Junction and Argos who have made this research possible.

This year we are pleased to be partnering with the A4u in running the Affiliate Census, to ensure maximum reach for the research among the affiliate marketing community.

Matthew Wood, Founder of the 65,000-strong Affiliates4u Community, said:  “Through data collection and analysis it’s fantastic to be able to assist all stakeholders within the sector, effectively allowing advertisers to fine tune their affiliate marketing activity and match their future strategic plans to the desires and direction of their key publishers.”

As in previous years, the survey covers affiliate relationships with networks and advertisers, as well as the impact of industry trends and issues such as the rise of the mobile internet and cookie privacy laws.

The research will also look at the most important methods for driving traffic, and the most popular sectors for UK publishers. The results will be compared to findings from previous studies, to build an understanding of the evolution of the performance marketing sector.

Florian Gramshammer, UK Country Manager, Commission Junction, said: “The affiliate census is a vital tool for the industry. Affiliates often sit at the forefront of innovation and as the channel continues to rapidly diversify and grow, it is of paramount importance to gauge affiliate opinions on a regular basis. As such, we see this as an important piece of research to add our support to.”

The deadline for taking part in the survey is Friday 2nd September. Please help spread the word!

Very interesting news Linus. As an affiliate, I would be very interested in the results of this survey and see it as a very important step forward to all affiliate and advertisers.
