Ben Davis
Ecommerce continues to grow, increasing by around 10%, 2013 to 2014.

Part of this growth is due to the continuing emergence of APAC, specifically China. For example, just under three-quarters (73%) of Singapore’s population is presently connected to the internet, one of the highest in the region.

tag:econsultancy.com,2008:BlogPost/64747 2014-04-25T11:49:00+01:00 2014-04-25T11:49:00+01:00 Eight inspirational examples of mobile innovation from Asia David Skerrett
If you are looking solely at Western countries for new mobile innovations, you are looking in the wrong place.

Asia is where to look for new and interesting insights into our mobile future.

China and India, in particular, with their large populations and geographies are seeing new mobile innovations take off. I’ll also detail moves from Chinese companies such as Alibaba, which is encouraging US retailers to sell into the country, as well as Chinese brands partnering with US brands with both parties benefitting.

To start with some context, Ernst & Young estimate that by 2030, China’s ‘middle’ will number 1bn and represent two thirds of the world’s middle.

And despite this burgeoning demand in China, home-grown brands are lacking. As China’s twelfth five-year plan comes to end (one of its tenets is aimed at encouraging national brands, not just designers), there are an increasing number of international partner brands in China, and some Western businesses have been bought, too.

tag:econsultancy.com,2008:BlogPost/64471 2014-03-11T05:13:00+00:00 2014-03-11T05:13:00+00:00 Eight great examples of mobile marketing from Southeast Asia David Moth
Mobile penetration varies hugely among APAC nations, however in developed countries such as Hong Kong and Singapore more than three-quarters of the population own a smartphone.

In response to this consumer trend APAC marketers have to place greater emphasis on mobile, which has resulted in some extremely creative campaigns.

Having previously investigated stats on m-commerce from the region, here are eight excellent examples of mobile marketing campaigns from APAC.

tag:econsultancy.com,2008:BlogPost/64345 2014-02-19T04:00:00+00:00 2014-02-19T04:00:00+00:00 Five great ways to ace content marketing in Southeast Asia Eu Gene Ang
Southeast Asia's (SEA) 155m internet users are the next goldmine for digital marketing. APAC nations mean that marketers in the region are required to adopt a very different tactics to European or US marketers.

However data taken from Econsultancy’s <a following digital marketing channels they currently use, email emerged as the most popular answer among APAC businesses (79%).

This was followed by off-site social media (6%) SEO (61%), and Value in APAC: Developing a Model for Agency Maturity in a Digital World.

The report, sponsored by Adobe, details the challenges faced by agencies within the region, in particular its diversity, the struggle clients face in choosing supply-side offerings, a fragmenting customer landscape and a lack of suitable talent.

While this is countered by the huge opportunities present within a huge and digitalising region, the report states that agencies which fail to address these challenges are unlikely to succeed in the long term.

The research, which focuses on the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, is a follow-up to the first Progression
