Digital marketing is growing in Australia, but so is the skills gap

Seven out of ten digital marketers believe they have equal or more digital expertise than their managers and over half think their co-workers lack the skills needed to run successful campaigns.

These statistics come from Responsys’ third annual Big Australia Report, which revealed there is a widening gap in the skills of Australian digital marketers.

UK paid search market worth more than £4bn – new report

The UK paid search market is expected to grow by 14% and reach a value of £4.19bn by the end of 2012, up from £3.68bn in 2011. 

The figure, published today in our UK Paid Search Agencies Buyer’s Guide, includes media spend and money spent on agency services and consultancy.

Non-profit organisation the eCommerce Foundation has today launched a free e-commerce benchmarking tool that aims to help businesses compare activity with competitors anonymously – and for free. 

The benchmark’s website takes the shape of a straightforward questionnaire, intended for B2B or B2C merchants and retailers.

What recession? UK online shoppers buying more, spending more: report

Times are still tough but don't tell that to online shoppers, who are apparently buying more items and spending more on orders.

That's according to Coremetrics, which announced the results of a Benchmark Survey that looked at the sales of 150 top online retailers in the UK in the two weeks leading up to December 7.
