The hashtag: understand customers and remain in control

Hashtags in social media marketing are overused and under-appreciated, but it also can be hard to measure the success of hashtag campaigns.

Marketers need to do more than count likes and followers. They need to truly understand sentiment, language, tone of voice, and the trends of how conversations unfold, and campaigns are re-appropriated, around their chosen hashtag.

TK Maxx finally starts selling online

TK Maxx has started to sell online in the UK, but the discount retailer is taking a cautious approach, and is only offering handbags for sale on the site so far. 

The company is asking for feedback from customers on what else they would like to buy from the site though, so it seems that other product ranges will follow.

Fashion brands missing out by not selling online

The UK's fashion brands are missing out online by not making the most of their websites and offering a full range of products to web shoppers.

In the YouGov survey conducted for GSI Commerce, brands such as H&M, TK Maxx, Primark and Matalan were highlighted for failing to make the most of their web presence, despite the obvious benefits of selling online.

Site review: Matalan

High street retailer Matalan unveiled its first e-commerce website just before Christmas, though the company is just selling its women's clothing range online at the moment.

I've been having a look at the new website, designed by Code Computerlove and using BT Fresca's e-commerce platform, to see how it shapes up from a user experience perspective.
