Toyota launches a Twitter-oriented microsite, buys (?) a sponsored definition

Can brands build unique experiences for consumers around Twitter? Toyota is giving it a shot with a new Twitter-oriented microsite called Harmony Tweets that is being used to promote the Prius.

The microsite was built by Federated Media, which has over time gone from an ad rep to a "conversational marketing" agency.

Amazon goes 'microsite' to sell mobile phones

Amazon is expanding its e-commerce empire. Although the online retailer has been selling mobile phones for years, it has launched AmazonWireless to serve the market in a more finely-tailored fashion.

AmazonWireless, which is in beta, is essentially the online retail equivalent of a 'microsite' and is quite simply designed to provide a one-stop shopping experience for US consumers looking for a new cell phone or service plan.

Behavioural targeting for websites explained

Driving people to websites is still the main objective of most marketing campaigns, and why not, surely that’s the end goal of all marketing.

But what happens to people, once they get to the target site seems to be less important to many campaigns, as is the measurability of those converting from prospects to customers once they arrive.
