Why your brand should definitely be on Tumblr: 10 fantastic examples

This article will only have one use of the term ‘millennial’ and I’ve just used it up already.

The majority of Tumblr users are under 34 years old, which basically means I only have approximately eight months left to legitimately write about the micro-blogging platform before the core demographic cast me out towards the shores of an increasingly older person populated Facebook.

“Hi mum. They finally kicked me out of their stupid club. Yes I’ll look at the photos of your embroidery. Yes I’ll leave a comment. Sigh.”

So what’s the appeal of Tumblr? What are the benefits? Are there any brands currently excelling on the platform?

Let’s first take a look at some stats to grab your attention.

11 glorious ways the internet will keep you entertained right now

When not writing incisive commentary on big US brand’s social video strategy, giving new bloggers helpful advice on setting up a WordPress site or searching around the Topshop website wondering where my youth has gone, I’m also just staring blankly at the internet.

Occasionally during my comatose-like revery, something registers as vaguely interesting, and when it does I wipe the drool from my mouth and add the link to a little document on my desktop called ‘stuff that is good on the internet that I should tell people about’.

Here are the contents of that very document, spilled out on to your monitor like a fisherman who has cut open a net of bottom-feeding suction eels onto the deck of his trawler.

Enjoy!

11 spectacular ways the internet helped kill time this week

Despite last week's machinations, I've given up on trying to keep this weekly round-up of amusing internet things 'evergreen'.

So prepare for a topical assault of Flappy Bird, Sochi, Valentine's Day, The Lego Movie and flood misery, rendering the future readability of this article as redundant and confusing as a two year-old repeat of Have I Got New For You.

If you do have any questions at the end, me and internet will be holding a Reddit AMA later on this afternoon. Only we'll be using the pseudonym Jennifer Lawrence.

The 15 best branded Vines of 2013

Here in my 'expert' opinion are the best Vines created by brands in 2013.

Although seeing as Vine has only existed for approximately 11 months, here are the best branded examples from the entire existence of the service. That sounds far more impressive.

What makes a good branded Vine? Well, I'm glad you asked...
