Dominos has invested in the mobile channel in the UK over the past couple of years, and this has paid off, with £10m of sales generated by the iPhone app alone in eight months. 

Now the pizza firm is following the launch of mobile sites and apps for Android and iPhone with an iPad version. 

After entering your postcode (the option to detect location would be a useful addition here), the app serves up the menu for the nearest Dominos outlet.

Like the iPhone version, the iPad app (developed by Somo) is well designed and intuitive to use, and the larger screen allows it to use high resolution images of its pizzas. 

A carousel feature allows users to swipe and browse through the menu, and actually makes it easier to use than the desktop version:

This is a very well designed app, and now Dominos has just about all bases covered when it comes to ordering pizza, allowing its customers to choose their preferred platform. 

What is also significant is that its main pizza delivery rival in the UK, Pizza Hut has not done anything with mobile at all (in the UK at least), which gives Dominos a big advantage.
