Mark Brill has been working in digital channels since 1994 – the earliest days of the web. Since 2003 he has been a mobile specialist, delivering platforms for messaging, content, payment and apps. Mark’s particular focus is on brand strategy in mobile and emerging channels. He now divides his time between lecturing in Future Media and as a consultant on innovation strategy, especially around next generation devices and the Internet of Things.

Mark has chaired the DMA Mobile and Connected Marketing Council and is a regular commentator on emerging channels in the media, including The Guardian and BBC News.

Max Dawes was one of Zappar’s first employees back in the heady days of 2012. Zappar now have offices in London, San Fransisco and Sydney with an ever expanding team, currently about 30. Max has the important sounding job title of Partnerships & Marketing Director.

He works with Zappar’s global clients such as Rovio, NBCUniversal, PEZ and City Football Group on how they can utilise augmented reality and virtual reality across their sales and marketing strategies.

In addition to this Max and his team help agencies and developers harness the power of AR & VR for themselves through ZapWorks, Zappar’s self-serve content creation tools.

Prior to Zappar Max was an ad man, a PR spiv, and a music biz high-roller (or at least he like to think so).

Prior to joining Janrain, he worked with Bazaarvoice as their VP International Sales and before that grew and sold a VC backed infrastructure company called Exor to Bentley Inc. working as their Global VP Sales and Marketing. At Lagan we grew a business based on CRM (Citizen Relationship Management) and subsequently sold the business to Kana.  Running a NASDAQ listed Web based CRM provider called Firstwave Technologies Inc. he served as VP Europe with full P&L responsibility increasing revenues threefold and closing business with clients like the DWP, Argos and Nationwide.  

He is a qualified Rugby coach and referee and has the dubious pleasure of coaching the Wellington RFC U14's, to glory and success.
