Overview

Here in Team Marketing at Econsultancy, we are marketers working in the digital marketing industry and we have lots in common with you. We market to the same prospects as you (digital marketing and e-commerce marketers and digital technology and services buyers from big and small brands alike). Econsultancy wants them as members, event attendees and trainees. You, most likely, also want them as customers, prospects and leads for your sales team.

So, we're all in the same boat facing the same challenges:

Where do you find the best sources of data and leads in our industry? List brokers, trade events, own events, email marketing, DM?

Which are the best agencies to use for campaigns, marketing, DM and social? How much do they charge?

What do the brands we all target respond to? What makes them sit up and listen to your story in a crowded market?

What 'soft sell' methods are working best: Social media, PR, whitepapers, content creation?

How do you measure the success of your campaigns, and what channels do you find the most effective? How can you show returns on your marketing budgets?

So Econsultancy's Team Marketing thought it was high time to bring together our community of marketers targeting digital marketers, so that we can share our common  experiences, hear from a few experts, build our networks and learn from each other.

We'll look at discussing some of the issues above, in roundtable format so there's lots of opportunity to find out what your peers are doing about the challenges and opportunties we all face.

Roundtables

Choose from two of the following roundtable topics in which to participate:

  • Budgets & Planning: How you measure ROI and report to the Board, how you manage internal relations and negotiate bigger budgets, how far in advance do you plan and how have pressures around the wider economic climate affected you.
  • Technologies: Email, CRM, data management, SEO, online measurement, tracking, marketing automation...who do you use, how do they work for you, your challenges and benefits that you've found.
  • Supplier Selection: From social media to trade shows, online vs offline advertising, what works best for you when you're selecting suppliers, how much do you pay, what works and what doesn't.

Each roundtable is moderated by an expert with the agenda driven by roundtable attendees, so you can make sure your particular challenges are addressed. Chatham House Rule applies within these forums.

In addition, we've included some 10-minute presentations from those whom we rate to provide some insight and inspiration into the world in which we work.

Once discussions are over, we hope you'll stay for some more informal networking over a glass of wine or two - hopefully on the sun-drenched deck of HMS President!

Speakers' and panelists' profiles

Doug Kessler, Creative Director, Velocity

Doug Kessler, Creative Director, Velocity

Doug Kessler is co-founder and creative director of Velocity, the London-based B2B marketing agency specialising in technology companies. He started his career 25 years ago at Ogilvy & Mather, New York and quickly emigrated from beauty bars and fabric softeners to business marketing for grown-ups. And he's never looked back.

With such a strong background in B2B technology markets, we've asked Doug to give us insight into what clients are doing these days, where he sees B2B marketing heading, and how to bring creative spark into your campaigns.

We highly recommend you read his excellent The B2B Marketing Manifesto - a "call to action and plea to ambition" that we at Econsultancy echo!

Richard Brenkley, Managing Director, Coast Digital

Richard Brenkley, Managing Director, Coast Digital

Coast are a digital agency, with a team made up of creative, technical and innovative marketers. Very much results-focused, they have evolved to focus principally on the B2B market.

Richard is Coast's Managing Director, and also involved with ABBA, the Association of Business to Business Agencies. Richard is keen to ensure that B2B agencies continue to keep at the forefront, adopting new theories and learning new disciplines, but he's also a great evangelist for the work that is already being undertaken.

We've asked him to tell us about why he feels so passionately about the B2B market and opportunities that we can exploit, particularly from a digital perspective.

Panel of Senior Marketers

Get the inside track... We've asked three senior marketers, the type we're all targeting with our marketing efforts, to give us insight into what influences their decision making process: what marketing activities captures their interest and attention, what do they read and what events do they attend, do they buy people - or is the technology more important?

Who should attend?

We've designed the event specifically for marketers working for agencies or suppliers who are targeting buyers of digital technologies and services. As this event is by invitation only, if we've been in touch, then it's right for you!
