Overview

The Traveling Geeks are an informal group of US-based technology influencers and bloggers, who're coming to London and Cambridge in July as part of Innovation UK.

The mission of Traveling Geeks is to collaborate with innovators and influencers, then share what's been learned through blogging, video, podcasts, social media tools and meet-ups.

As part of their tour, Econsultancy is hosting a roundtable event, based on three areas of mutual interest in which innovation and new technologies are fundamental:

  • Innovation within larger organisations
  • Social media and associated technologies, particularly their use within communities and the public sector
  • Customer service, the impact of social media and new technology, and the implications for skills and learning

The objectives are to share knowledge, experiences and best practice on the topic in question. Discussion will include case studies, trends and developments, innovative and disruptive techologies, new ways of interacting, the challenges these create and resource allocation.

To ensure that the visiting Geeks get a good taste of England, we'll be hosting the event at The Swan at The Globe, on London's Southbank. Roundtable sessions will be followed by a traditional English tea and a tour of the Globe Theatre.
