Internet banking has had a revolutionary impact on the way we handle our finances.

No longer do I have to spend my entire lunchtime queuing in my local branch of Natwest just to set up a direct debit.

Mobile banking has taken this a step further, as most transactions can be carried out simply by pressing a few buttons on your smartphone.

Data included in this infographic from mobile agency Somo shows how quickly people have adopted digital banking services, with 77% of bank customers using online or mobile banking at least once a month.

Furthermore, there have been 14.7m mobile banking apps downloaded so far in the UK and globally only 14% of people say they go into a branch once a week.
