At the centre of the contest lies Sharp’s famous book ‘How Brands Grow’. In one corner brand consultant, academic, agent provocateur and award-winning Marketing Week columnist Mark Ritson will assess the impact of the marketing best-seller and the areas where he believes it still falls short, with Sharp being given the right to respond in person.

This session will not be filmed or made available after the event so to ensure you experience it you must be at the Festival of Marketing on the morning of the 5th of October.

The battling professors join a long list of illustrious names to have headlined the Festival, including Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, Sir Martin Sorrell, Lord Alan Sugar, astronaut Colonel Chris Hadfield and activist Monica Lewinsky.

Jo Malone MBE, founder and creative director of Jo Loves, was previously announced as the Festival’s first headline speaker. The English perfumer, who previously built the Jo Malone London brand before selling to Estée Lauder in 1999, will share her branding expertise as well as her entrepreneurial journey.

Founded in 2011, the Jo Loves brand encompasses fragrances, candles and bath and body products. The brand’s flagship store in Belgravia exhibits Malone’s belief in high street retail experiences that delight the customer.

The Festival’s full speaker lineup is still being finalised, but attendees will get to experience two days packed with 12 stages of content, the Festival After Dark after-party, workshops, and a Festival City of food, drink and sponsor experiences.
