Mountain Dew Energy has launched a Facebook campaign centred on street art culture.
The PepsiCo-owned drinks brand, which returned to the UK last year following a 10,000 petition on Facebook, asks fans to create a unique piece of street art on its Facebook app.
The winning entry will recieve £5,000, and also become the brand’s official street artist.
The activity follows a teaser campaign which saw the brand ask fans to nominate their idols, with Nirvana and Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl and Jackass star Johnny Knoxville the eventual winners.
Murals of Grohl and Knoxville were then created by street artists Graffiti Kings in London.
The focus on street art is part of Mountain Dew’s wider branding around extreme sports and activities, which is echoed by the use of paintballs to create the street art.
