Web agency Decoda has created a new site for pop-video directors James and Alex that aims to act as a showcase for the duo's work as well as convey a sense of their own personalities.
Decoda design director Dominik Webb said: "The brief was to create a Flash site which would be sensitive to these directors and their distinctive style of film making.
"The added bonus is that by being created in Flash, James and Alex can update the site with ease as they can generate XML files which can be read by the Flash movie with no knowledge of Flash needed by them."
This site represents the first stage in the development of the James and Alex Web site, with stage two already under construction.
Stage two will show scenes from video shoots, biographies available via PDF, regular news updates and a case study of the making of a music promo, which is set to include the written treatment, storyboards, photos from the shoot and the final video itself.
Additionally, the site will act as a promotional tool for James and Alex and video commissioners from record companies will be able to request showreels.
James and Alex have previously worked with bands such as Idlewild, Mercury Rev and Kylie Minogue. The director duo also created the video for Yellow by the band Coldplay which was the 11th most requested video on the digital TV channel, Q Music TV.
