TV presenter Gok Wan has partnered with Specsavers to host a live talk on Google+ with fashion bloggers and competition winners.

Specsavers brand ambassador Gok Wan will discuss his range of glasses for Specsavers on what it claims to be the UK’s first celebrity ‘hangout’ - a feature of the social network which lets people host group video chats for up to ten users.

The live event, which will be held at Google’s head office in Central London today (November 11), is aimed to build awareness of the Spectacle Wearer of the Year awards.

The event will also be available to watch on Specsavers’ YouTube channel while live status updates will also be broadcast to the brand’s 60,000 plus fans on Facebook.

Tim Langlois, digital marketing manager at Specsavers, said: “The awards have been running for 15 years now and we feel that the Google+ hangout is an amazing opportunity to take blogger and public engagement to a new, dynamic level.”

To enter the competition people need to set up a Google+ account and add Wan to their celebrity circle. All followers will then be  entered into a draw to win.

Media agency MEC has been charged with finding and inviting key online fashion bloggers to the event.
