Music portal Gigwise has been announced as an official partner for Oxfam’s annual music festival Oxjam.

The partnership will revolve around a hub launching on the Gigwise site, dedicated to the month-long music festival this October.

Content will be updated daily and will primarily revolve around blog posts by Oxjam volunteers organising festival events, along with features about other festivals taking place over the summer.

As part of the tie-up, Gigwise will be granted preferential access to artists at Oxjam media launch gigs, which will be promoted on both its site and the hub. This will include video interviews and footage from the gigs, as well as competitions for tickets.

Nick Bryer Oxjam manager, said he hoped the venture would recruit volunteers and create “key ways” to generate money for Oxfam’s work around the world.

“We feel there’s such a strong crossover in terms of our respective audiences that we could get a lot of people registered through this,” he added.
