Piers Morgan is to launch First TV, an extension of his national children’s newspaper First News, exclusively online.

The first episode can be watched at firsttv.tv from 16 July, and a series of specials will follow on 6 and 20 August and on 3 September.

First TV will be a mixture of news, entertainment, sport, travel, celebrity interviews, competitions and record breaking attempts.

Presenters for the show include YouTube celebrity Charlie McDonnell, Kate Modern star Emma Pollard and X-Factor contestants Nicola and Fran Gleadall.

Nicky Cox, editor of First News and First TV, said, “For too long, older children and teenagers have been poorly served by traditional television channels. We felt it was time to make their own channel just for them. First News is already read by a quarter of the nation’s young people so First TV was the next logical step for us on a digital platform.”
