AOL has hired Microsoft’s Christian Peck as VP of European advertising products and operations.

Peck, who was partner solutions director for Microsoft EMEA, will be based in London and report directly to AOL’s European advertising sales head, Kate Burns.

He will be responsible for managing and growing AOL’s advertising operations and developing new products. He will also be tasked with spearheading AOL’s product innovations across Europe, including behavioural targeting, sponsored text listings, creative solutions and display advertising.

Prior to his time at Microsoft, Peck was VP and MD of Atlas Advertising and has also held numerous media agency roles, including group board director at Zed.

Burns said Peck will play a key role in the company’s strategy to become the “world’s largest provider of display advertising”.

“Christian will play a key role in creating the best products in the business for our advertisers and publishers,” she said. “He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge spanning the advertising industry.”
