Mobile vouchering is set for a boost with the launch of iPhone app Vouchercloud, which presents offers from thousands of retailers including Coffee Republic, Strada and Zizzi.

The free app, developed by Invitation Digital, aims to build on the success of its existing coupon book.

It allows consumers to download around 2,000 money-off vouchers to their phone, which they then present to retailers at over 10,000 stores.

The Vouchercloud app follows the launch of rival services including Rippll and Snaffle, an app developed by Lastminute and vouchers specialist VouChaCha, currently being tested in Covent Garden.

Vouchercloud also taps into the iPhone’s GPS functionality to allow consumers to search for local offers.

Gabriela Seir, digital marketing manager for Tragus Group, which owns Café Rouge and Strada, said, “We can use mobile as a new channel. It allows us to reach customers in a timely fashion and when they’re away from their PCs. We’re putting a lot of focus on mobile. “

Ian McKelvie, IT manager for Coffee Republic, said, “It will drive footfall and act as another tool to get our promotions out to customers.”
