Online poker gaming site PKR has relaunched with a range of social networking and community content.

The site features an upgraded MyPKR section, which includes player profiles with tournament rankings, a friends management system, personalised newsfeeds and player-to-player messaging.

It also boasts a community area, which provides information on events, profiles of PKR personalities and an improved discussion forum.

Users can access a branded online TV station, a digital version of the brand’s customer magazine and free strategic poker advice.

Simon Prodger, marketing director at PKR, said providing a meaningful brand community is a key differentiator in the competitive market of online gaming.

“We’re confident that increasing customer engagement levels will have a hugely beneficial effect on customer retention,” he said.

The relaunch was developed with digital agency Zone and informed by neurological research on its users’ emotional relationship with the brand.
