Blog queen Perez Hilton has unveiled a new fashion-orientated blog that “gives you the scoop on the finer things of celebrity style”.
The Gap-sponsored site so far contains lots of images, and little in the way of text, but should quickly attract a following due to Hilton’s popularity and reach.
CocoPerez describes itself as follows:
A new fashion blog from Perez Hilton integrating content, shopping, and celebrities to create a unique community for trendsetters, fashion industry influencers, and celebrities to go to for inspiration.”
“CocoPerez.com will feature Celebrity red carpet and “on the street” looks, fashion industry news, how to get celeb looks for less, where to find fashions seen on TV and in movies, and interviews with “of the now” fashion designers.”
EvilBeet broke the news about the launch, having discovered an easy hack to gain access the password-protected site, which was due to be released tomorrow.
Perhaps as a result of this Perez has flipped the switch today, as the blog is currently open access at the CocoPerez.com domain.
EvilBeet wasn’t exactly full of praise for the new venture:
The rumors have been that this is going to be a website targeting women around the 26-year-old demographic, using “longer-form” editorial content, but what it looks like to me is PerezHilton.com but focusing on the fashion world.”
“I mean, in some of these posts, he’s still drawing on photos. The longer-form editorials appear to consist of a paragraph or so more than his traditional pieces.”
Hilton’s blog remains one of the most popular websites on the internet. It reaches 6.4m unique users a month and generates a staggering 262m page impressions (actual data, as measured by Quantcast). He has also amassed more than 1.3m Twitter followers, and as such it’s hard to imagine that CocoPerez won’t get off to a great start.
