***Buongiorno Vitaminic supports South Africa’s HIV prevention initiative***
Buongiorno Vitaminic, the leading European media company, is to donate mobile products and revenue and provide interactive mobile technology and sponsorship for ‘Lovelife’, South Africa’s national HIV prevention programme. The deal incorporates Buongiorno Vitaminic’s partner in South Africa, the country’s principal mobile phone retailer, Teljoy Group.
Buongiorno Vitaminic and Teljoy will donate Nokia phones, digital cameras and other gadgets as prizes for a reality television show competition to run across Lovelife’s various youth-focused media, from April to June 2004.
They will also provide SMS technology enabling the audience to participate in competitions and send feedback, plus wallpaper and ringtones relating to the programmes and challenges. In addition, Lovelife will receive a share of the revenues generated as a result.
Lovelife was launched in 1999 to educate young people about preventing HIV infection in South Africa – where, at the current rate of infection, over 50 percent of the population under 15 years old will contract the disease. Key elements of the programme include a television, radio and print media campaign to raise awareness of the issue.

Lovelife is funded by the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the Nelson Mandela Foundation, Unicef and the South African government.
