Heart 106.2, the no.1 radio station in London has asked Reading Room to design a dynamic website for its Light Up London Campaign.

The radio station appointed digital communications agency Reading Room to design their first ever microsite with the aim of raising funds for those who need it most at Christmas.

Danielle Ford, Marketing Manager at Heart 106.2
“This was the first time we had worked with Reading Room, they came highly recommended and now we know why. They are extremely passionate about what they do and this is obvious in the fantastic job they have done for us especially when you think we only gave them two weeks to turn this around.”

Visitors to the site http://www.lightuplondon.co.uk will be able to sponsor as many Oxford Street Christmas lights as they wish. The minimum donation is £5 per light, so people can buy a light for themselves, or for friends and family, or, get their company involved in buying lights to brighten the city.

The site will be promoted on the radio and those who visit will be able to see how the illuminations and fund-raising are progressing. They’ll also have the opportunity to enter a prize draw to join Jamie Theakston and Harriet Scott at the Oxford Street Christmas Lights Switch-on aftershow party.

All donations will be shared equally between Heart 106.2’s nominated charities; Centrepoint, Breast Cancer Campaign and Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity.

Once every light on Oxford Street has been sponsored, Heart 106.2 will host the switch-on of the spectacular display and present cheques to the charities for all the funds raised.

Then – bring on the celebrations!

Margaret Manning CEO Reading Room
We are delighted to be involved in a project that will mean so much to so many people. The Charities Aid Foundation, an existing client of Reading Room’s, thought we would make the ideal partner for Heart 106.2. Everyone involved has been carried on the momentum of seeing Heart’s dream of switching on the most spectacular lights ever to be seen in the West End a reality, whilst supporting others to have a better Christmas.
