RedEye, the eCRM software and services agency, announced today that it has acquired 100% of the email marketing company, e-relationship marketing Limited (“e-rm”), for an undisclosed sum.

The companies have been working closely together over recent months and have been looking to forge a closer working relationship for some time. The acquisition means that RedEye now has over 40 employees and projected sales revenues of £5m, providing the company with a greater critical mass within the online marketing market.

“RedEye’s shareholders have substantially strengthened the capital of the company and we have a very strong balance sheet to fund further acquisitions. The market has started to consolidate and it is RedEye’s intention through organic growth and acquisitions to remain a major player,” says Brian Fenwick-Smith, who will remain as Chairman of RedEye.

Jonathan Kay, RedEye’s Managing Director and who will become Managing Director of e-rm, states that, “Although each company has a strong technical background the deal makes particular sense because the technology is delivered through a highly trained and dedicated account management team. Ultimately the client wants the maximum return on investment and the company believes this is all about providing clients with the right service rather than a commoditised unit of software.”

RedEye is keen to invest in both organisations to drive business forward. e-rm’s clients will benefit from access to a wider range of online expertise and measurement services whilst RedEye’s clients will gain from working with a UK based email delivery and email data expert. In essence, the combined company will become an online direct marketing specialist.

Mark Patron, a non exec director of RedEye will become Chairman of e-rm. Two of the e-rm’s executive directors and shareholders have left to pursue other business interests and there will be no redundancies.
