KODIME Ltd, the mobile media specialist, have been appointed by TNT Post, part of the global mail and express company to supply them with a text donation solution for their active partner and charity the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP).

TNT Post has now launched a text donation service that will allow their customers, staff, clients and suppliers to donate money through their mobile via SMS. The service will offer the choice of a one off donation or to sign up to a subscription service that will debit a weekly or monthly amount from the mobile phone bill. By opting into a subscription service, donors will receive a free monthly wallpaper.

Nico Köpke, Managing Director of KODIME Ltd. commented, “I am delighted that TNT Post has chosen KODIME Ltd and ZOOMtxt® to mobilize and expand their existing support of the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP). Using our software packages will allow TNT Post to both market and generate additional revenues for this charity.”

TNT Post will advertise and promote the solution through various channels, including their company newsletter and posters through out their offices and buildings nationwide. The code will be promoted to external customers through general PR and a door drop campaign that will run later this year.

The code is also currently promoted on their 2007 company calendar. Simon Dolph, Head of Marketing and Communications, commented

“KODIME's software has enabled us to embrace the use of mobile as an alternative channel for customers to find out more about our products and services. As one of the WFP’s largest partners we were keen to utilise the use of mobile in raising donations for the WFP to help feed the world’s hungry and KODIME and Mobile Media consultant, Cheryl Prime, have been instrumental in helping us do this”.

Since 2002 TNT has been an active partner of the WFP, the world's largest humanitarian aid agency. Each year, the WFP provides food aid to an average of 90 million people (including 56 million hungry children), in more than 80 countries.

In 2004 alone, TNT invested a total of €8.5 million in the partnership with the World Food Programme: €7 million came from in-kind services and knowledge transfer projects, and €1.5 million as a cash donation. In 2005, TNT increased its commitment to €10 million in knowledge transfer, hands-on support, and funding and awareness initiatives. In 2006, they committed €8.4 million excluding
employee fundraising.
