End of Year Growth and Bumper Award Nominations for Academy Internet

Academy Internet’s continued expansion and development is highlighted by the recent list of nominations for its commitment to staff training, customer service and product and service innovation.

Brighton, 14th December, 2005 Academy Internet announced today its nominations for Small Business of the Year 2005, e-learning Project of the Year 2006, an outstanding Investors in People post certification review and Google Advertising Professional qualifications for two members of staff. The turnover of the business is also set to exceed £500k in the year to end December 2005 which represents growth of almost 80% over 2004.

In light of this performance, for a second year running Academy internet achieved Runner Up position in the EDF Energy Small Business of the Year Award and has recently been short -listed for the Institute of IT Training e-Learning Project of the year Awards 2006. Academy Internet is also proud to announce the achievements of Jeremy Jacobs and Dan Pelling who both recently qualified as Google Advertising Professionals; both gaining outstanding results of 92% and 87% respectively.

A continued commitment to staff development is also reflected in the excellent Investors In People (IIP) report gained last month, with the Assessor commenting "this small business is an excellent example of how using the Investors in People Standard as management tool and having a real commitment to developing people, can bring about business success." Other comments made in his report included "there is a real sense of excitement amongst staff for the work they are doing and for the future of this organisation, partly based on the knowledge they will be able to access any development activity that will improve their knowledge and skills for the benefit of the team."

“I view the positive IIP report as a real business advantage,” said Jason Woodford, Academy Internet’s Founder and Development Director, “I know that few of our competitors provide any sort of formal work based training for staff and therefore if we train our people to be more knowledgeable, more effective and more capable than our competition, we'll produce better results than them for our customers. It's as simple as that.”
