1 March 2006: Digital Spy, the online digital TV and entertainment website, has recruited 24/7 Real Media, a pioneer in interactive marketing and technology, to boost revenues for the site through managing advertising sales and serving adverts on the site.

Digital Spy currently delivers more than 120 million advertising impressions every month. By next summer the monthly advertising impressions are expected to double to 240 million. 24/7 Real Media has been appointed to manage this expanding ad inventory. Digital Spy's ad sales and ad serving were previously facilitated by Aura, AdLink and an in-house solution, but the company chose to consolidate the activity with a single supplier. This decision was based on the grounds that 24/7 Real Media offers such a wide range of products and services that meet Digital Spy's online requirements, including tracking, reporting and targeting.

The contract sees Digital Spy using 24/7 Real Media's Open AdStream technology to serve advertising on the site. The reporting capabilities of Open AdStream mean that Digital Spy will gain a more detailed understanding of its audience, allowing for more efficient sales of advertising space and increased revenues to fund other business activities.

"In the evaluation process, 24/7 Real Media thoroughly analysed our business and its advertising sales requirements. The company has a strong global presence and extensive knowledge of advertising formats and knows exactly what advertisers are looking for. The company had been recommended to us and its proven track record made it the obvious partner," commented Alan Jay, chairman of Digital Spy.

Steve Dorey, head of business development at 24/7 Real Media's UK operation, commented: "We are excited that we have been selected to work with Digital Spy. This is an excellent opportunity to use our innovative technology to integrate new creative, advertising opportunities into the site. We hope to significantly increase revenues for Digital Spy, ensuring advertisers are seeing a good return on their investment."
