Blog, edit and add text to your videos from CeBIT for free using coullvlogger at

March 10 2006 - CeBIT, Germany: From today, registered users of Lycos Europe’s (United Kingdom), (Sweden) and (France) sites will be able to blog, edit and caption their favourite video clips to other members on the sites for free, courtesy of coullvlogger.

The trial vlog period will run for three months, allowing users to post five videos a month, up to a total of nine for the period. During this period, paid upgrades will be available as well as users being able to upgrade to a monthly subscription model once the three month period has expired.

Lycos will be using Coull’s coullvlogger technology, which is the world’s first truly interactive streaming video software application. All JubiiBlog members, regardless of their technical ability, will be able to simply and seamlessly stitch together images, video, sound and text into a vlog that can be streamed across the internet without the need to know anything about video editing, format encoding, hosting or streaming.

Coullvlogger will be initially launched in the UK, France and Sweden, within Lycos’ JubiiBlog
blogging community. It will then be rolled out across a further five countries, including Spain, Italy, Germany, Denmark and the Netherlands.

Irfon Watkins, CEO Coull Ltd comments, “coullvlogger removes the traditional complexities involved in publishing video and re-purposing it for viewing by the masses. This makes the technology extremely accessible to everyone wanting to share video.”

He continues, “In addition, its deployment has real sound commercial benefits for product marketing and advertising as well as revenue generating opportunities. Coullvlogger can be branded, which enables Lycos to seek sponsorship partners for the service.”

Thomas Servatius, director of portal products at Lycos Europe comments, “Video blogging was a natural progression for us to trial. We take our communities very seriously and this new offering compliments the JubiiBlog ethos of ‘different skins for different moods’.”

He continues, “We chose Coull as a partner because their software allows outstanding creative freedom for our users. Furthermore, we really like Coull’s pragmatic approach to technology and are confident of the potential revenue this alliance will generate.’’
