London, February 6, 2006 – Local authorities who missed the December 2005 eGovernment compliance deadline now have until the end of March 2006 – but many will fail unless they get help fast.

LB Icon, a leading full-service company, has set up an ‘emergency helpline’, providing local authorities with rapid assistance to complete the development and implementation of online applications – in particular, content and document management - to meet the revised eGovernment compliance deadline.

According to recent research*, two-fifths of local councils are completely non-compliant with the official electronic content categorisation standards (eGMS), and therefore cannot deliver an effective and efficient online ‘search and find’ to citizens, call centre agents or staff.

“LB Icon has a successful track record of helping local authorities capitalise on content and document management methodologies and systems in order to deliver on their eGovernment strategies,” said Tony Gale, Managing Director, LB Icon Ltd. “For organisations who haven’t yet made the deadline, the development, integration and implementation skills and experience they need to help meet it are just a phone call away.”

LB Icon’s public sector clients include The Department for Education and Skills, Ofsted and The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, as well as local authorities including Bracknell Forest, Enfield and Stockton-on-Tees Borough Councils.
