Evolve, Box UK and the Consumer Council for Water are delighted to announce the development of the Council’s new website and intranet. Evolve, an S-Cat and Catalist accredited supplier, and Box UK have been commissioned to produce the new sites, the first of which the Council has independently operated.

The Consumer Council for Water is an independent public body, set up in October 2005 to represent the interests of water consumers in England and Wales. Since its inception, the organisation has successfully established a system for public involvement in consumer aspects of water services in England and Wales. It also has an additional remit to undertake research and policy development.

The new project will see the implementation of Box UK’s market-leading Amaxus XML content management system, which has the ability to drive multiple internets and intranets – providing a solution that meets the Council’s specifications. Amaxus is currently providing CMS solutions to a number of high-profile clients, such as the Royal Navy and Chubb.

Box UK Project Manager, Lauren Matthews is overseeing Box UK’s involvement in the project, and is sure that in partnership with Evolve, they will provide the best solution for the Consumer Council for Water:
“The Consumer Council for Water set us a demanding target – and it was an extremely competitive bidding process. However, we are very confident that, in Amaxus, we have a CMS which enables us to meet their expectations, and deliver two fantastic sites.”

CCWater currently have no intranet site, and only a small shared section on the OFWAT website. The new website will have a consumer focus and will provide a new communication channel for water consumers who wish to pursue an enquiry or complaint. .

The redeveloped and expanded internet site and the brand new intranet are set to go live later this summer.
