It’s no secret that we Brits are a reserved lot; not only do we hate to complain, but lavishing compliments is something that comes very unnaturally. This has never more true than in restaurants. Now Hoxton establishment CRU Restaurant and Wine Bar offers its customers the opportunity to get all off their chest – the good AND the bad – in the comfort of their own home or office.

With the launch of their revamped website this week, designed by integrated communications agency satiworks, CRU is amongst the first London-based restaurants to feature a blog section on its website.

Says proprietor Brendan Murdock; “I know that most restaurants aren’t that keen to discuss the positives and the negatives with their customers, but we believe that without a little bravery and a lot of transparency nothing changes. By offering our customers a blog forum, the feedback enables us to ensure that our goal of providing the perfect wine and dining experience is being delivered.”

Given the fact that a visit to CRU is often part of a day or night out in Shoreditch and Hoxton, the website’s Events section offers useful advice to visitors less familiar with the area as well as residents who tend to forget the numerous cultural events taking place right under their noses.

Reflecting the true sense of community that makes the area so special, CRU offers local art, film, music and theatre venues free promotion of upcoming events by simply blogging ‘Events’ section – the result; a comprehensive guide to what Hoxton and Shoreditch has to offer.

Behind this interactive concept is the new integrated communications agency satiworks. E-Communications Partner, Samantha Dunham says:

“We felt that a good restaurant website was not just a place to make a reservation but a place to be able to participate in and experience the caring, sharing learning ethos of wine and food of the establishment itself and its place in the local neighbourhood.

Through enriching the design and content of the site CRU’s customers can share their reviews and find out about wine and food on ‘vino, vino, vine’ and ‘compliblogs to the chef’ blog areas.

It is rare that brunch, lunch or dinner is a thing on its own, it is normally part of an evening out and CRU’s customers can now plan their afternoon or evening in a simple one-stop-shop with free cross promotional opportunities for CRUs neighbours.

Our bespoke CMS solution ensures for CRU: control of content, rich interactivity and cross promotion, thus saving time and most importantly money which is important to any SME.”
