Conchango has been named ‘leader of the pack’ in a Forrester evaluation of ten leading European design agencies in Europe. Conchango was recognised for its website design and corresponding brand-positioning capabilities.

Conchango’s current offering and strategy was evaluated against 18 criteria, including the design process, branding ability, skill set, user experience, business results achieved, on-time delivery and value received.

Forrester applied its Web Site Review and Brand Image Review methodology to evaluate design agencies. Overall, Conchango’s reference work was found to be strong in both user experience and brand image.

This supports Conchango’s view that it is a leader in ‘integrated design’ where the approach to interactive design is much more akin to product design, where the design process and team is a blend of branding, user experience, aesthetics, ergonomics and technical architecture.

The Forrester report stated: “Conchango is a UK-based agency that stresses iterative design, client management skills and lots of client face time to resolve issues. The agency has an articulated set of mostly high-touch collaboration tactics that include sharing personas, user testing results and case studies with technology and branding partners as a way to align goals. Reference sites received top marks for user experience and strong scores for Brand Image, making this agency suitable for any type of engagement.”

Mike Altendorf, Joint Managing Director of Conchango says: “We’re delighted that our work and commitment to delivering the most intuitive online solutions has been recognised by an independent third party. We have always strived to combine cutting-edge design and technical excellence while understanding exactly what our customers’ customers want, this accolade is testament to this. It’s great that the talent and dedication of everyone working at Conchango is being acknowledged by the industry as well as our customers.”

The Forester report continued: “Conchango uses a customer-centred approach to solution design. Relevant user research and testing is consistently integrated throughout the process and tied to post-launch measurement, from mock-up to post-launch usability testing.”

Conchango’s results in the Forrester report mirrored the company’s growth. The number of staff has grown steadily and in line with its strategy to remain independent. Revenues in 2006 are expected to be the highest ever, up from 2005’s £20 million turnover.

Forrester conducted evaluations in February and March 2006 and interviewed 10 European Web design agencies:, AKQA, Conchango, Creuna, FullSIX, LB Icon, Nurun, Pixelpark, Satama Interactive, and Wunderman.
