Box UK and the British Computer Society are delighted to announce the launch of the redeveloped BCS website, providing even more information and resources to the IT industry. The phased launch began in February 2006.

The British Computer Society commissioned Box UK to implement Amaxus, its market-leading content management system to drive the new site, with the strong possibility of further sites in the future.

Since revising its membership structure in 2004, the British Computer Society has seen membership increase by over thirty percent to over 55,000. This in turn has lead to a stronger demand on the Society’s resources, necessitating the redevelopment of its web services.

Over 600 additional pages have been built in to the new site, providing comprehensive information on all aspects of the IT profession. With such an obvious wealth of data, the deployment of a highly-effective content management system is critical to the performance of the new site.

The start-of-the-art Amaxus content management system facilitates the high-level management of documents, web resources and digital assets and can drive multiple intranets, extranets and websites. Amaxus is currently providing web solutions for a number of other prestigious clients, ranging from the NHS to Saatchi & Saatchi and the Royal Navy.

Utilising the additional power of Amaxus, the new BCS site features new interactive surveys, advanced searches and an interactive events calendar.

Box UK Project Manager, Lauren Matthews is delighted by this collaboration:
“The fact that Box UK was able to secure such a prestigious client speaks volumes of the regard for Box UK in the IT industry. We feel that, in Amaxus, we have the premier content management system, and as such offer the ideal platform for the British Computer Society.”

The next stage of the phased implementation will see the production of a login area for BCS members, providing exclusive content and services.
