A Highlands based web analytics and research agency, set up just two years ago, has reached the finals of The National Business Awards for Scotland. Highland Business Research (HBR) has been shortlisted as a finalist in the ATOS Origin Award for E-enablement category.

The ATOS Origin Award for E-enablement award will be presented to the company that can best demonstrate the effective use of technology to empower its employees or customers. The technology should also have improved the quality of interactions, enabling that group to own new transactions, information and/or activity, and to use the information gained to inform both tactical and strategic decision making.

Highland Business Research director Vicky Brock, says, “We are delighted to have reached the finals. After just two years, this is a significant achievement for us. Our cutting-edge web analytics services help companies understand how their customers behave online. This in turn helps them to maximise the value of their online investment. For this to have been recognised with a nomination in the e-enablement category is particularly satisfying.”

Vicky has played an important part in the facilitation of web analytics practices both locally and globally, including achieving recognition by the Web Analytics Association (WAA) by being appointed co-chair of the international committee and being an associate instructor for web analytics at the University of British Columbia. Highland Business Research also launched the Scotland group of the WAA last year, which now has an active membership and meets regularly in Edinburgh.

The aim of The National Business Awards for Scotland is to reward and recognise excellence, best practice, and innovation throughout the Scottish business community. Judges will be looking for evidence of three key guiding principles in all 15 categories: commercial success, innovation in performance improvement, and ethics in respect of legislation, regulation, the environment and the rights of all stakeholders.
