Darren Simpson has joined digital agency Mook as Design Director bringing with him eight years of cutting edge industry experience. He was previously Art Director at Digit for one and a half years working on various projects that included Vodafone, Habitat and Eat Cinema.

Before Digit he was senior designer at Randommedia where his work for PlayStation included the award winning gran turismo4 site
(http://www.granturismoworld.com). Both Wunderman Interactive and Razorfish have benefited from his talents both as lead designer on global sites for Motorola hellomoto.com, landrover.com, and ford.co.uk, and as a designer respectively.

Darren will be responsible for heading up the design team, and ultimately reasonable for design and art direction in the studio, and works together with Tom Evans and Marc Williamson high level creative concept work, with final sign off on art direction in the studio and the career development and nurturing of the team.

Mike Jones has been a leading light within Rich Application development for almost 10 years and has also been snapped up by Mook as Head of Development.

Mike’s credentials are impressive. He was a founder member of Spooky and the Bandit (one of the first commercial Flash development teams globally) and his experience covers a gamut of clients including Adidas, Sony, Hoffman La Roche, BBC, IBM, Shell-Ferrari and Macromedia to name a few. He is also responsible for developing techniques within this area that are now cornerstones of development best practices.

As Head of Development he has a few hats to wear: From ensuring in-house capability and understanding to continue producing high quality engaging work for clients to providing a technology touch point for new trends and technologies bubbling up. Ultimately utilising both in-house, and by Mook’s clients, through talks and white papers.

Before joining Mook Mike was at Global Datacenter Management (http://www.gdcm.com) and prior to that Quidnunc.

‘These two new roles join Marc Williams, Head of copy to form the cornerstone of our creative offering. Both Darren and Mike’s experience, skills and talent will ensure the highest standards of digital creativity will be met as Mook continues to scale up.” Said Tom Evans, Creative Director, Mook.

Mook have also recruited Actionscripter Simon McInerney as an Interactive Developer. Starting his career through music production and voice over work, Simon stealthily developed his coding skills, going on to freelance and latterly working at VCCP Digital. He’s worked for an impressive list of clients that included MSN, Diet Coke, Alton Towers, Madame-Tussauds, Yell.com and now has many more to add with his work at Mook.
