Scene7 Introduces Image Portal 2.0 to Extend Leading Rich Media Platform

Self-service access reduces image distribution time and costs up to 60 percent

NOVATO, CA – September 28, 2006 — Scene7®, provider of the leading on-demand rich media platform, today announced the availability of Image Portal 2.0, offering companies a cost-effective, turnkey image management system to service all content users. This solution enables retailers, manufacturers and other companies doing business online to share assets internally, as well as distribute corporate-approved assets to their partners and channels. A wide spectrum of Scene7 clients from manufacturing to retail are realizing tremendous business results with Scene7’s image portal, including ExOfficio, John Lewis, LaCrosse Footwear, Inc., Levi Strauss & Co. and National Pen.

Scene7’s image portal solution is a browser-based, “self-serve” environment that provides all end users access to pre-approved image assets in the formats they need anytime, anywhere. Users work within a secure system to browse, search, inspect, view and export imagery. All image access is administrator controlled to manage asset permissions down to the file level.

Unlike other image management systems, Scene7’s image portal seamlessly integrates with its rich media Web publishing platform, giving creative teams a single set of tools to create, manage and publish assets to Web sites, print, email or to make available to portal end users. This speeds time to market and drastically reduces production costs.

“Scene7 clients were already adding, managing and publishing their master imagery for rich media visualization on their Web sites,” said Doug Mack, CEO of Scene7, Inc. “It was a natural fit to build an add-on module that allows our clients to distribute their content to partners in a secure, controlled environment.”

Scene7’s solution also uniquely manages master images. All requested versions are dynamically created on demand, which eliminates the need for any manual production and reduces overall operating costs by up to 60 percent. And, as with all Scene7 solutions, Scene7 Image Portal 2.0 is available both as 'on-demand' or licensed software.

“Our clients’ only alternatives were expensive, complex digital asset management systems that prevented them from scaling usage to their many partners,” added Mack. “In our research, we found there is rampant dissatisfaction with poor usability of existing systems. Scene7’s portal solution addresses these issues.”
