Leading soft furnishings manufacturer Plumbs has appointed Code has its digital agency with an initial brief to completely redevelop the plumbscovers.com website. The family run business based in Preston is the UK market leader in furniture coverings and curtains with an annual turnover of £30m.

Code will be tasked with revitalising the Plumbs’ online presence in line with its objective of appealing to a slightly younger audience for which a more contemporary range of fabrics and finishes is being introduced. The new website will have greater functionality and specifically aim to generate more appointments than the current site.

Explaining why they selected Code, Chris Plumb, Online Marketing Manager said, “We chose Code primarily based on the fact that the agency proved to Plumbs that they were able to provide a strategic business approach to our website portfolio, and creatively have designed an interface that would both appeal to Plumbs existing customers and attract new customers. Plumbs were also impressed that Code fully addressed key issues such as SEO and usability. Plumbs range of products include reupholstery (www.plumbsupholstery.com) furniture covers and curtains (www.plumbscurtains.com)”

The redevelopment of the site will take 10 weeks with a launch set for October 06.

In addition to its status as Plumb’s digital agency, Code is also sole digital agency for RHM foods and a key supplier to the Kimberly Clark Corporation, handling the digital strategy for its Huggies, Kotex, Little Swimmers and Poise brands, as well as being one of a handful of digital agencies on KCC’s European Interactive Agency Roster. Code’s client list also includes Waterstone’s, HMV, NCC, Nokia, Bupa, Umbro and Refuge.
