, the UK arm of Scandinavia’s leading online health jobs company Medrek Rekrytering AB, have today give over 30,000 UK doctors, nurses and allied health professionals an early Christmas present in the form of a new and improved online job board and careers site.

The redesigned site will allow healthcare professionals to register online and receive specialist job alerts from over 260 different healthcare categories. Managing Director Mikael Olsson said “Medrek’s great success in Scandinavia and Finland can be attributed to the fact that we can offer a true niche product to general and specialist medical, nursing and healthcare professionals. Whether they are staff nurses, radiographers, GPs or consultant anaesthetists we have the capability to allow them to sign up to our free service to receive only the content specific to them”.

The update will also allow content to be added from third party content providers wishing to reach the target group that they require and also allow partner companies to add new content to the site to reach more than 30,000 UK medical and healthcare professionals registered with medrecUK. This means that UK doctors, nurses and healthcare professionals will be able receive job alerts, careers advice and healthcare news from one independent source.

The redesign coincides with the launch of the medrecUK newsletter targeting both jobseekers and clients which aims to keep both groups up to date on events in the healthcare market in the UK.

UK Sales Manager, Ben Cooper says that “the UK has no real product like this, medics and nurses have had to rely on their information from companies with a bias towards selling them their own product or service, companies such as staffing or locum agencies or even the NHS through their jobs website. MedrecUK generates revenue from job advertising rather than recruitment or staffing which means that the jobseekers who register with us have total control over what kind of jobs they look for and total control over who they can apply for jobs with” commenced business in March 2000 in Stockholm and rapidly rose to become Sweden’s number one free resource for doctors, nurses and allied health professionals seeking work. In 2002 they started Medrek Denmark and 2004 saw the launch of Medrec Norway. Medrek deals solely with advertising and provides a valuable cost-effective service for over 80% of the Scandinavian healthcare providers.

Medrek’s most ambitious goal over the last two years has been to launch The site launched in November 2004 and has built up a respectable database of over 30,000 healthcare professionals. MedrecUK’s overarching goal is to create the number one media channel for healthcare recruitment advertising in the UK.
